Jakob Bro, guitarist representing Germany’s prestigious ECM label, and Japan’s renowned percussion master Midori Takada —

an evening of silence and resonant sound

Jakob Bro, from Denmark and emerging as a leading guitarist on ECM, and percussionist Midori Takada, who continues to perform on stages worldwide, come together on a Tokyo stage. Two artists of different generations and cultural backgrounds meet to create moments of sound that blend seamlessly with the city.

Urban Echoes — Resonating with the hidden spaces of the city — unfolds at Omotesando’s Tessenkai Noh Theatre.

Improvisation meets structure, silence meets resonance, guitar meets percussion. In this space where tradition and the contemporary converge, a rare unplugged live performance takes shape.

Felbm’s first solo performance in Osaka — where the pulse of the city meets the cycles of nature.

Dutch multi-instrumentalist Felbm creates music that mirrors nature’s rhythms and the changing seasons, resonating with the city’s heartbeat. His latest work, winterspring/summerfall, is an 80-minute suite inspired by Japan’s 24 seasonal divisions, drawing from everyday observations—clouds, rainfall, and budding life.

Urban Echoes will take place at Shimanouchi Church in Shinsaibashi, performed by a trio of double bass, piano, and flute, filling the chapel with layered sound. German speaker brand ADAM Audio ensures precise, immersive sound. H. Takahashi, founder of Kankyo Records, opens with minimal, poetic rhythms, while visual artist Yudai Osawa transforms the space with light, particles, and abstract imagery, creating a unique Osaka experience.

Chicago-based singer-songwriter Gia Margaret makes her Japan debut — an evening of quiet, soul-stirring “sleep rock” at the Important Cultural Property, Jiyu Gakuen Myonichikan

Gia Margaret weaves music that crosses indie folk and ambient, grounded in classical piano.

Her delicate piano, layered with subtle sounds, creates soft spaces of quiet, gently illuminating emotions hidden within everyday life.

Urban Echoes — Resonating with the hidden spaces of the city — comes alive in the auditorium of Jiyu Gakuen Myonichikan. In this historic building designed by Arata Endo, a protégé of Frank Lloyd Wright, the rhythms of light and shadow merge with the music, uniting sound and space as one.
